Suzanne Childress Design
Suzanne Childress of
brings a diverse pallet of style and design to life through a melding of both classic and modern elements to create a visual framework that is both sophisticated yet subtle. It is the ability through collaboration to compose a personal aesthetic for her clients that weaves together elements from their desired lifestyle, the particular surroundings and unique possessions. Whether styling a sumptuous space for art and entertaining by integrating an eclectic mix of antiques with contemporary elements in a San Francisco North Beach Victorian, or designing a modern space with luxurious appointments, enchanting art, and custom architectural elements for a Mill Valley dwelling, the aesthetic remains pure while personal. Color, texture, and architectural integrity are balanced.
With degrees in law and psychology, Suzanne has an extensive background in environmental law, along with undergraduate studies that include art, design, and employment at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. This combination results in her ability to seamlessly intertwine the practical, legal and environmental aspects of a design project with the artistic, intuitive and playful. In addition to drawing on her education and work experiences, her designs and projects reflect her extensive travels exploring destinations in Europe, Africa, Australia, and Asia. She has exhausted her passport seeking out inspiration.
Suzanne has lived on the East and West Coast and her aesthetic reflects both regions, with a depth of experience that is demonstrated in the varied design projects she has managed including: historic restoration, new construction, green design, renovation, interior furnishings, exterior face lifts, and landscaping. Her projects have been featured on HGTV.
